Cesar Sanchez, designated the new CDE of the state, and Hernani Salazar, in charge of the electricity commission of the PRD transition team, urged the government not to sign an agreement with the private generators and distributors that would bind the resources generated by electricity sales. Reportedly, the government today would sign the agreement that would ensure private distributors and generators the payment of resources owed them by the Dominican government, regardless of decisions reached by the next government. The PRD new authorities have criticized the lack of transparency and the improvisation of the privatization of the energy sector in the DR.
