Indotel closed 12 radio stations that were transmitting illegally in San Pedro de Macoris. The Asociacion Dominicana de Radiodifusoras (Adora) had urged the closing of the illegal stations that were interfering with the signal of their members. Indotel recently announced a nationwide operation to close the more than 100 stations operating illegally in violation of Law 153-98. Indotel is expected to carry out similar operations next in the eastern provinces of La Romana and La Altagracia.
