Attorney General criticizes pressures of US congressman

General Attorney of the Republic, Cesar Pina Toribio says that he is unmoved by the threats and the reprisals taken by US congressman Benjamin Gilman (NY). Gilman has been successful in restraining two donations of the US government to the DR. He wants more action on behalf of the DR on returning two fugitive Dominicans, sought by the US justice. One is Pablo Almonte Lluberes, accused of complicity in the murder of a New York policeman, and another is Carlos Grullón, a Dominican accused of the murder of his wife. "I want it to be clear that this kind of attitude and threats, at least in what I am concerned, does not repress me, nor oblige me to activate or not activate judicial processes," he told Hoy newspaper.
