Legal counsel-to-be announces anti-corruption package

Guido Gómez Mazara, in an interview with El Siglo newspaper, said that the Hipólito Mejía government would review the performance of each of the departing ministers of the Fernandez Government and would follow up its government officers to avoid these succumbing to corrupt practices. Gomez Mazara is the Mejia choice for legal counsel of the Executive Branch. He said that the new administration would assume an anti-corruption policy not focused on talk, but on action from the state. A three-part package would be presented to the Congress for approval. The anti-corruption package will contain provisions for the creation of a Special Anti-Corruption Attorney; an Attorney of the People, and a Court for Constitutional Guarantees. The idea is to prevent corruption and prosecute administrative corruption, says Gómez Mazara.
