Hollywood’s star, Salma Hayek-Jiménez ("Frida", "Chain of Foools", "Timecode") will play one of the Mirabal sisters in the movie version of "In the Time of the Butterflies," the novel by Julia Alvarez, an American of Dominican descent. Filming for the Metro Goldwin Mayer production, directed by Mariano Barroso will start in September as reported by the Spanish news agency, EFE. "In the Time of the Butterflies," is a best-seller based on historical facts. It tells the story of the four Mirabal sisters that became symbols of defiant hope during the time of the Trujillo Dictatorship.
