Administrative Secretary-to-be denounces high salaries in Civil Aviation

Pedro Franco Badía denounced cases of high salaries in the government, especially of persons without a specific job. He said the most spectacular case he found is that of a family that is employed by the Civil Aviation Board. Jesucita Hernández is deputy director of Civil Aviation, her husband Manuel Alfredo Rivera is in charge of personnel. Among the two they make RD$265,000 a month. Hernandez is on the payroll for RD$60,000, plus US$8,000 for the Proyecto de Cooperacion Tecnica MSA/Dom /970’801" that was supposed to remove Category III for the DR, but has not been successful in doing so. Her husband, Rivera makes a salary of RD$35,000 as director of personnel and collects and additional US$4,500, supposedly for the above mentioned program. In addition, their son, who is employed as a Civil Aviation representative in Miami, Florida, makes an additional US$2,000. Franco Badía said their son spends most of his time in the DR.
