Twenty-seven hotels and restaurants will participate in the Festival Gastronomico Dominicano. This is the 26th version of the leading Dominican gourmet event. The event will take place at the Salon Las Carabelas of the Hotel V Centenario Inter Continental as of 8 pm on Tuesday, 1 August and Wednesday, 2 August. Admission is RD$500 per night. The Ministry of Tourism, the National Hotel & Restaurant Association, and the Santo Domingo Hotels Association, and the Association of Chefs of the Dominican Republic primarily sponsor the event. It is a benefit for the Hogar de Niños Mary Loly (children with AIDS). Tickets are for sale at 686-3451 and at the hotel. (1 August 2000)
