The Dominican Electricity Corporation (CDE) reported that it made payments of RD$400 million to the private power generators (IPPS). The Listin Diario reports Dominican Power received RD$109 million, Smith Enron US$10.7 million, Compañía de Puerto Plata US$2.5 million, and Continental Corporation, US$1.5 million. As a result, it was said that blackouts should decline to three hours per day. CDE said generation was at 1,635 megawatts. Demand is supposedly at this same level.
