President-elect Hipólito Mejía says that he will not fill the government institutions with "bottles," as jobs in government are known where the appointed does not fulfill any real need. Mejía told Hoy newspaper that the demand for jobs has "overflowed the cup" and that a relative of his asked him for the post of Vice President. Vice President-elect Milagros Ortiz will be the new Minister of Education, in addition to her post as Vice President. Mejía said that those who helped out during the presidential campaign did so hoping for jobs are mistaken. He says he has spoken clearly that there cannot be jobs for all. The new government authorities have been under more pressure than usual as President-elect Hipólito Mejía has advanced who will hold the key government positions.
