Reprimand for using government stationary

President-elect Hipólito Mejía said that Pedro Franco Badia, appointed Administrative Secretary of the Presidency nor any of the future ministers are authorized to use official government letterheads for appointing subordinates prior to their being sworn into office. Hoy newspaper yesterday published a photograph of a letter from Franco Badia written on Presidency letterhead stationery in which he appointed Juan Villaman as head of the Price Control Department. Mejia urged Franco Badia to wait until next Wednesday, 16 August when he would be authorized to make the appointments.
