The appointed Administrative Secretary of the Presidency Pedro Franco Badia said he favors the increase of the value-added tax and of the tax on luxury items (impuesto selectivo al consumo). In his opinion, these taxes are those that less affect the low income sectors, as food items and medicines are exempt.
