Seems the escorts of President Mejía need urgently to take driver’s ed classes. A jeep part of the presidential escort suffered a major accident along the Baní-San Cristóbal highway on its way back from Azua. The injured were on board a Ford Explorer jeep. El Siglo says that the escort vehicle hogged up the road which resulted in a crash with a vehicle headed southwest. The occupant of that vehicle suffered only minor injury, but his vehicle, like the jeep, was seriously damaged. The escort jeep crashed into a tree. Two of the five on board the jeep suffered major injuries. News reports say that a motorcyclist, also member of the escort, suffered another accident in the 27 de Febrero tunnel while already in Santo Domingo.
