Hurricane Debby is making its way through the Caribbean, and gusts and heavy rains should affect the North Coast (primarily Samana) of the Dominican Republic on Wednesday. The DR1 has prepared a special hurricane page at http://www.dr1.com/daily/hurricane001.shtml with updates being posted, as they become available. The best advice for those with travel plans to the DR this week is "if the plane flies, get on it!" Reports from other Caribbean islands are of minor damages caused by the storm, the second hurricane this year. (22 August 2000)
