The Justice of Peace of Hato Mayor, a city in the East of the DR, sentenced four women to contribute from RD$200-RD$500 a month to the maintenance of their children. The judgements came in response to complaints placed by their husbands. Justice of Peace Dulcinea Peña said that the law applies to both men and women. The husbands had alleged that their wives made more money than they did.
