Luis Felipe Lopez, the only Dominican player in the National Basketball Association league was sent to the Wizards of Washington in a multiple player trade. López was traded by the Grizzlies of Vancouver, along with players Dennis Scott, Cherokee Parks and Obina Ekezie, for Isaac Austin. Lopez had an average of 4.5 points last season. He was chosen by the San Antonio Spurs in the first draft of 1998, and immediately was recruited by the Vancouver team. In his first season, he had averaged 9.3 points. He participated in 65 games last season.
