DR could show trade deficit with US

After a decade of a positive trade balance with the US, globalization has turned things around for the DR. According to a report in El Siglo, the US-DR trade balance is now in the US favor. The DR had imported US$134 million more than it had exported in the first semester. Import levels are increasing progressively, not so export levels. Dominican exports to the US in 1999 were US$4,296.7, while imports were US$4,100.4 million.
