President Mejía travels to New York

President Hipólito Mejía traveled to New York on seat 28A of economy section yesterday. President Mejía banned first class travel by government officers. He traveled economy to set the example. Interestingly, President Mejía, prior to occupying the Presidency was a regular first class passenger, enjoying privileges of his American Advantage card due to his travels for his own business. The Dominican delegation accompanying the President was of 35 members, including approximately 20 journalists, most invited by the government. President Mejía will stay at the Hotel The Kimberly of New York City. President Mejía traveled to New York to participate in the Summit of the Millennium of the United Nations.
