Major League players Sammy Sosa, Alex Rodríguez and Pedro Martínez have accepted to participate in a prevention campaign carried out by the Direccion Nacional de Control de Drogas, the local drug control department, starting in November. Major General Manuel Antonio Lachapelle Suero is coordinating the effort. "We are committed to avoid that our society fall prey to the vices and we must knock on the doors of all those whose lives can serve as an example for the men and women of the future," he said. "I am sure everytime a boy watches the Pedro Martínez, Sammy Sosa or Alex Rodríguez ads, he will be motivated to study and practice sports."
