Northwest Airlines announced yesterday that it will renew its winter service to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The airline offers regular winter service to Grand Cayman and Montego Bay in Jamaica. From Minneapolis and Detroit, passengers will be able to fly directly to Punta Cana. "This added service will make it easy for Northwest passengers to escape the snow and head to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world," said Jim Cron, Northwest, vice president-market planning and airlink. The schedule for the Northwest winter service from Minneapolis and Detroit is as follows: Minneapolis-Punta Cana flight (Airbus A320) will leave Minneapolis on Saturdays from 23 December 2000 through 14 April 2001. From Detroit, Northwest will travel to Punta Cana (Airbus A320) on Saturdays from 23 December 2000 through 28 April 2001. Northwest Airlines is the world’s fourth largest airline offering more than 2,600 daily departures with hubs at Detroit, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Memphis, Tokyo and Amsterdam. (7 September 2000)
