President Mejía dislikes gossip

Hoy newspaper journalist, Asela Lamarche, who traveled to New York City to cover President Hipólito Mejía’s visit, asked President Mejía what he didn’t like about being President. "May I say that I have never liked gossip," he said. "Gossip makes me feel bad, and iniquity, people that tell you things and you know they are lies, for their personal interests, that tastes like the devil to me. The intrigues, I don’t like them either, I am an open and sincere man." She then asked, "And people bring you lots of gossip, Mr. President," to which he responded: "No perhaps not gossip, but truths in which they believe, and I crosscheck these five other ways, and some are lies."
