Two year jobs, at most, says President Mejía

President Mejía then made it clear that he didn’t believe in government officers remaining for than two-years on the job. He said in his government no one would stay on for four years. "Whoever does things well, may stay at most two years, he who wins the respect of the community. He who does not, will stay for a year. We have to give the opportunity to someone else, we have to distribute the pie equitably. That was the theory of Peña Gómez [the late PRD party leader]. Now you have to reward those who do an extraordinary job, that is are honest, and project the image of the Presidency, and win the support of the community. He who does not do that will be gone before the year. This is not a contract of exclusivity, either," he said.
