The Ministry of Environment repossessed lands at the intersection of Cayetano Germosen and Luperon avenues in Santo Domingo. El Siglo explained that the 42,000 meters of the Parque Cayetano Germosen were originally granted in December 1999 to the Archdiocese of Sato Domingo for the construction of an educational facility promoted by Father Milton Ruiz (Movimiento de Evangelización del Arte). But that in weeks prior to the change of government, 30,000 meters of the lot were sold to Tokío Motors for RD$36 million. According to Father Ruiz, the company had plans to assemble vehicles on the lot.
