President Hipólito Mejía announced his support for the development of the Santo Domingo Cyberpark. The Cyberpark was the pet project of former President Leonel Fernández. "It is a great project that we will continue with the same philosophy but with new authorities, with a new group. It is a good project that was implemented outside the budget," he said. The 250,000 square meter park complex includes a commercial center, residential complex, high tech free zone complex and the Technological Institute of the Americas. It is located near the Las Americas International Airport.
