On Saturday, 16 September, Dominican Sammy Sosa became only the third player in Major League Baseball to hit 50 home runs in three consecutive seasons. In 1998, Sammy hit 66 homeruns, in 1999, 61 home runs and so far this year, he has hit 50 home runs. Only Mark McGwire has accomplished this feat before.
