Attorney General Virgilio Bello Rosa asked Secretary General of the Partido de la Liberación Dominicana (PLD), José Tomás Pérez to drop by his office to identify the former PLD administration officers that became millionaires in the past government. Pérez had denounced that the present government was carrying out a select anti-corruption campaign targeting second and third level former government officers, not so the big guys. Pérez said there were many persons who became "super-rich" in the Fernández administration and that have not been touched "with a petal of a rose" by the present anti-corruption authorities. The explanation given by José Tomás Pérez was that these people have family or business ties with PRD government officers. Or simply, they made enough money in the past administration to buy their impunity.
