The vice president of the Chamber of Accounts says that an audit showed there has not been corruption regarding three non-governmental organizations presided over by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Rafaela "Lila" Alburquerque, her husband and her son. Neither has there been corruption in her handling of the land purchase for the clubhouse of that organization nor in the construction of the clubhouse. Osiris Martínez Núñez said what they found was a lack of financial controls. Television investigative journalist Nuria Piera presented the irregularities on Channel 9. The government did not allow the airing of a second part of the show. News commentator Aristofanes Urbaez of El Siglo newspaper commented that the champions of corruption in government now want to cover up the Lila dossier. "We have our preferred corrupt people, how much farce," he wrote. Alburquerque is considered a protegee of former President Joaquín Balaguer.
