The Listín Diario highlights damages caused by a diesel fuel spillage on 5 September affecting the Laguna de Bavaro in the Cabeza de Toro-Punta Cana area. Reportedly, a 200 square meter area was affected by the spillage that was caused by a leak in a pipe that serves fuel to the Allegro Resort power plant in the area. The Laguna is a scientific reserve that has been affected by hotel operations in the area. The Ministry of Environment sent a commission to evaluate the damages.
