Weather reports indicate that September weather in the DR will be affected by a serious of intermittent tropical waves bringing rains. Hugo Segura, director of the Escuela de Metereología told El Caribe newspaper that the country could be under the continuous effects of showers brought by the crossing tropical waves. While these are beneficial for agriculture and for the levels of the dam reservoirs, the rains cause problems for city dwellers. The Central Atlantic Storm Investigators report several rainmakers are in formation and on the way to the Caribbean. These include a borderline storm south of the Cape Verde Islands that is moving slowly west-northwestward and another that is moving west-southwestward from near 22 north and 55 west, and that may get better organized the next few days, perhaps reaching Puerto Rico over the weekend.
