The former military attaché of the Dominican Republic in the United States, today Minister of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General José Miguel Soto Jiménez declared assets of RD$12.6 million. By law, all those taking office in the DR need to declare their assets at the start of government. The Minister declared he owns three all-terrain vehicles (jeeps) that he appraised at RD$2.6 million, a RD$4 million home in Altos de la Pradera, and a collection of paintings appraised at RD$700,000.
