Felix Sánchez (400 meters/hurdles) competed in the 400 meters/hurdles, making it to the quarterfinals of the event. He clocked in at 49.70, third in his heat. He competes again today for a chance to be in the finals. His best time is 48.41. Born in the city of New York, son of Dominican parents, he first represented the DR in the Pan Am Games of Winnipeg, Canada where he placed fourth due to a leg injury. Then he clocked 48.6. Sánchez is the DR’s only chance at a medal in the Olympics. He lives and trains in California.
