Tropical Storm Joyce today became Hurricane Joyce, the sixth hurricane to enter the Atlantic area this year. The hurricane is on a track that should spare the DR, but should be monitored closely to avoid surprises. It is still several days away from making landfall in the Caribbean and is on a due West course. Meanwhile, tropical wave activity in the Caribbean continues to bring rain showers and temperatures in the 70s to the area.
