Life returning to normal in San Cristóbal

Persons that had hurriedly evacuated their homes upon hearing the first explosions from the Fortaleza General Antonio Duvergé weapons deposit in San Cristóbal began returning to their homes Wednesday afternoon. School also was resumed in San Cristóbal yesterday. A government commission head by engineer David Domínguez of the Ministry of Public Works and representatives from the San Cristóbal governor’s office began to assess the damages. President Mejía and the Minister of the Armed Forces have said that the government will cover the costs of repairing the damages. But news reports say that hundreds of persons have returned and begun the repair of their businesses or dwellings.
