Old age gets to former President Balaguer

Seems that old age is finally getting to the legend of Dominican politics, 94-year old politician Joaquín Balaguer. The country’s longest standing politician, and most time President, has not left his house in days. El Siglo newspaper points out that he is receiving fewer people at his Av. Máximo Gómez residence. El Siglo newspaper writes that it has been months since he has taken his afternoon stroll at the Mirador del Sur Park, or visited the tombs of relatives at the Santo Domingo cemetery. But what makes the newspaper conclude that old age is getting to him is that the former President didn’t attend the mass of his beloved sister, the late Ema Balaguer. Balaguer’s nephew Joaquin Ricardo confirmed his uncle is suffering from old age. He said that his uncle still takes steps five times a week within his home, and continues to be read the daily newspapers. "There is nothing to hide It’s normal old age problems that have affected his vision and mobility, limiting him more than before. There is nothing new," said Ricardo.
