Major changes in the National Police

President Hipólito Mejía President Mejía authorized major changes in the National Police. Colonel Cesar Geraldo Ares Germán was appointed to be the new deputy chief of the Police. In the restructuring, several colonels were appointed generals and placed in charge of regional commands. The new generals and their commands are: Genera Jaime Marte Martínez – Cibao Central General Máximo Peralta Rodríguez – Northwest General Bienvenido D’Oleo Moreta – Southwest General Marcelino Durán Delgado – Central General Luís Rodríguez Florián – Northeast General Rafael Ramírez Vidal – South General Simón Guerrero Castillo – East President Hipólito Mejía also ruled the retirement of generals José Aníbal Sanz Jiminián, Juan Antonio Bello Rocha and Bienvenido Manzueta.
