New city taxes on power plants and satellite dishes

The city government of Santo Domingo passed a resolution that establishes taxes on the installation of power substations, power plants, satellite dishes and radio, television antennas. The Sala Capitular established the new tax structure: Antennas for radio, television or other communications for commercial use: RD$10,000 Microwave antennas RD$10,000 Satellite dishes up to 10 feet wide RD$5,000 Satellites dishes from 10-20 feet wide RD$8,5000 Satellite dishes of more than 20 feet RD$10,000 Substations will now pay RD$2 per kilowatt, and power plants RD$3 per kilowatt. Towers for the support of antennas for communications for commercial use, will pay RD$500 per foot of construction.
