The vice president of planning and marketing for the Banco BHD and representative of the Banco Sabadell of Spain, Jordi Torras said that the Euro is a reality in the DR. He said the BHD will offer savings accounts and certificates of deposit in Euros with the support and experience of the Banco Sabadell, of Spain, a shareholder of the bank. Speaking at Expo Europa 2000 trade exhibition, he said that the increasing trade and investment between the DR and Europe will convert the Euro into a currency of reference in the medium term.
