The Listín Diario reports that the Chamber of Deputies passed a controversial loan made by the Agencia Especial de Financiamiento Industrial of Brazil (FINAME) for the financing of equipment for the Oficina de Desarrollo de la Comunidad (ODC), a government community development department. The US$10,770,000 loan has been opposed by sectors on grounds that it contains significant overvaluing of the prices of the equipment sold to ODC by the Brazilian firm, Banks Exportacao Importacao.
