The National Police and the Attorney General office announced yesterday in a press conference that they seek two men that are suspect of participating in the kidnapping of 24-year old engineer Juan Manuel Jiménez Ulerio on 16 August in the northwestern city of San Francisco de Macorís. Jiménez’s family owns the largest exchange house in San Francisco de Macorís. Reportedly, a ransom said to have been near RD$20 million was paid for his release. The suspects are Teudo Mordan Jerónimo (alias Reynoso, José o "el viejo") and Angel Bienvenido Custodio (alias Bienvo) who were caretakers at a Río Vía farm in Azua, that Jiménez identified as where he had been kept for 31 days. He was released on 17 September after Bishop Jesús María de Jesús Moya, priest Julio Cesar Cornielle and journalist Antonio María served as intermediaries with the kidnappers.
