The torrential rains that have caused flooding in communities throughout the Cibao (Northern) region of the country in recent days continued their rampage yesterday. The body of an unidentified man was pulled from the River Mao in San Jose de las Matas. In addition, in municipalities in Santiago and Puerto Platt Province, flood waters spilled over riverbanks and gullies into homes, factories and shops. Dozens of families had to seek temporary shelter and damage to local businesses is estimated in the millions.
