The city of Santo Domingo is reading itself for the visit on Tuesday, 14 November of the King and Queen of Spain, Juan Carlos and Sophia. On the agenda of the visiting monarchs is a private meeting with President Hipólito Mejía and First Lady Rosa de Mejía. Also, visits to the National Congress, the Municipality of Santo Domingo, the new building of the Supreme Court of Justice. The King and Queen of Spain will meet with Spanish immigrants at the Casa de España social club. Also on their agenda are activities in the colonial city of Santo Domingo, and a reception at the residence of the Ambassador of Spain. The monarchs will arrive at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, 14 November and remain until 10 am on Friday, 17 November. From Santo Domingo they will continue on to Panama where they will attend the Iberoamerican Summit. This is the monarchs’ second visit to Santo Domingo. Their first was in 1976.
