Hungarian, Cuban and Russian coaches expected

The Dominican Federation of Weightlifting announced Hungarian coach Impre Zsuga will arrive in January 2001 to train the national team for sporting events from 2001 to 2004. The DR will be host to the Panamerican Wrestling Championship 15-20 July 2001. Zsuga was described as one of the leading wrestling coaches in the world today. He will work with national coaches Hector Dominguez and Francisco Ogando. It has been announced that sixteen new Cuban coaches are expected at the end of this month. They are Pedro Samora, wrestling; Jose Arias Pupo and Hermes Matía martín, precision shooting; Jorge Sánchez and Sonia Pedroso, gymnastics; Julio Barbado Wert, swimming. Georgina Mesa Clavijo, synchronized swimming; Jorge Figueroa, table tennis; Pedro México Hernández and Flores Maceo Bideaux, boxing; Carlos Manuel Miranda, fencing; Fidel Julián Ruiz Pérez, cycling. Earlier this week, the president of the Track and Field Federation had announced the arrival of five Russians to train athletes in track and field.
