King and Queen of Spain visit Supreme Court

The King and Queen of Spain visited the Supreme Court yesterday. During their visit they reaffirmed their support to the Spanish government cooperation agreements that are assisting the development and modernization of the judicial branch of the Dominican government. They were received at the Supreme Court by the president of the Court, Jorge Subero Isa and his wife Francia de Subero. Subero explained to the press that Spain is assisting the judiciary through the Consejo General del Poder Judicial Español and the Agencia Internacional de Cooperación Española. The monarchs also visited the Colonial City where they were honored for the Spanish donation of US$750,000 for the illuminating of the streets where the most important monuments of the 15th century are located. The agreement had been signed in 1997 and the monarchs were in time to formally inaugurate the second phase.
