The government announced an extension on the renewal of the vehicle circulation permits. The necessary front window stickers can be obtained until Thursday, 30 November. After which, the Police and AMET agents are instructed to retain vehicles until a RD$600 fine is paid (including RD$500 for the tow truck) and the sticker brought to be attached to the vehicle. The Department of Taxes said that only 60% of the RD$272 million projected income had been collected, or RD$163.2 Vehicular taxes fluctuate between RD$250 per year to RD$1,050, depending on the year and type of vehicle. Renewal of the sticker is easy, as more than 400 banks, postal offices and other government offices offered the service.
