The Ministry of Education announced that it will allow elementary students who failed the National Tests (Pruebas Nacionales)- by a margin of less than seven points – pass. Eighth grade students that do not meet the minimum requirement of passing all subjects with a 65 will be allowed to repeat the grade, with the department accepting as their grades for the first four months of the year, those of the previous year. The decision would benefit more than 12,000 students. The Ministry announced earlier this week that the National Tests would not longer be required of elementary or middle school students.
