Am Cham says 2% tax should only be provisional

The president of the American Chamber of Commerce, Andrés Aybar warned that the 2% advance on the payment of income taxes for businesses will have an inflationary effect on the economy. He said similar measures have been discarded as economic policy in South American countries. If the government stands on its position, he said that at most it should be applied for a two-year period. Presenting the Am Cham position, Andres Aybar, William Malamud, executive vice president and Henry Comber, vice president said that the advance would indeed generate more resources for the state. The businessmen said that the government should seek alternatives with which to replace the tax. He suggested the tax be gradually eliminated and that it should never become a minimum tax on doing business.
