President Mejía leaves for Mexico

President Hipólito Mejía was scheduled to travel on Wednesday, 29 November to Mexico to attend the inaugural of President-elect Vicente Fox. He will make a stopover in Miami. Fox will be sworn in on Friday, 1 December in Mexico City. Mejía is scheduled to travel with First Lady Rosa de Mejía, Minister of Foreign Relations Hugo Tolentino Dipp, his advisor Eulogio Santaella, who is a former director of the Consejo Estatal del Azucar, and Dominican ambassador in Mexico, Rafael Calventi. Also with press spokesman Luis González Fabra; Carlos Guzmán, director of protocol and his chief of military assistants, General Carlos Díaz Morfa. This is Mejía’s sixth trip abroad since taking office in August 2000.
