The Drug Control Department (DNCD) announced the arrest of fugitive Pablo Giordano Almonte Lluberes. Almonte is sought in extradition for the murder of New York policeman Michael Buczek in October 1988. The arrest took place in San Pedro de Macorís. The US had requested his extradition in 1998.
