New road directions

El Siglo newspaper reports that the Metropolitan Transport Authority announced the opening of a West-East express lane on the Malecón of Santo Domingo. The center lane traffic will flow, not interrupted by traffic lights. Drivers that want to turn along the highway need to take the left lane. Onésimo González of AMET also announced that the Calle Euclides Morillo, in the Arroyo Hondo sector, will become a West-East road. He also announced the Calle Bienvenido Garcia Gautier will become one way, North-South. He said that no longer will be cars allowed to turn left on the Tiradentes to take the Roberto Pastoriza Avenue. The turn needs to be made to the right on the Calle Frank Felix Miranda, and then on the Luis Schecker, to the left to catch the Roberto Pastoriza. He also said that in the case of Tiradentes Avenue with Fantino Falco (Plaza Naco), the left turn will be eliminated. It will have to be made on Avenida Gustavo Mejía Ricart to the right. The drivers will have to take Calle Roberto Larancuent and then the Fantino Falco. He also announced that the Anacaona Avenue will be fitted with small speed bumps so that drivers reduce speed along that avenue.
