Samana’s smart kid, Benjamin Peña, came to the capital with his father from Los Tocones, in Samana. El Caribe newspaper recently told his story which won the 11 year old student an invitation from Minister of Education, Milagros Ortiz Bosch. He is regarded in his community as gifted and had told reporters that his dream was to visit Santo Domingo. His dream came true when he was received yesterday at the government headquarters. The boy also received a new computer donated by Ademi, a financial association, and an encyclopedia and story books from the Vice President.Benjamin told El Caribe reporters that intelligence is not a gift of any child. He said that children who work at it will become more intelligent.
