Acting President Milagros Ortiz Bosch decreed free rides on government OMSA buses for women on Saturday, 26 May from 7 am through Mother’s Day, Sunday 27 May at 7 pm. Toll booths were instructed not to charge commuters over the weekend. Thousands of Dominicans are expected to take to the highways to visit family in interior cities over the weekend.
